全期住宿及書院共膳
理由
全宿共膳的傳統可追溯至牛津和劍橋的學院生活。你將結交來自不同背景和不同學科的朋友,也可以認識你的一眾老師。學生會一起住宿並共進晚膳,因而建立親密的氛圍和有着緊密連繫的社群。
共膳是書院生活的要素之一,並有助團結書院社群。共膳對全宿生活而言,可謂不可或缺。此外,其亦和書院通識課程密不可分,屬於課程的一部分。
住宿
作為敬文的一份子(不論是本地生抑或是非本地生),你得以在常規修業期間首四年(共八個學期)住宿。宿生的義務為投入宿舍生活及參與共膳,和書院同學一同學習和成長。以下為膳食安排和相關費用詳情。
共膳
書院將在學期間舉辦共膳和高桌晚宴,亦會邀請嘉賓或同學在用膳期間/之後就不同的主題分享他們的看法。敬文書院不設常規週會。每個學期,書院均會在每週二至週四安排三次共膳。高桌晚宴則每年四次。以下為出席率要求和相關費用詳情。
宿舍的詳細安排
敬文書院承諾為每一位學生提供常規修業期間首四年的宿位。其對住宿的需要是否迫切,或是往返大學的距離等並不在考慮之列,而是根據下列安排。
- 所謂首四年是指你在中大修讀的第一個本科學位起計的8個學期。暑假課程的住宿安排則會分開處理。
- 你仍在常規修業期限內。若為按認可資歷入讀的本科生,或以高年級入學,你的常規修業期限可能少於四年/八個學期,因此我們未必會提供四年/八個學期的宿位。
- 所有住宿空檔期也會被計入四年宿位,其中包括任何例外情況。例外情況指境外交流/實習項目、紀律或公共衛生問題導致的退宿處分,或因疫症、天災、安全問題或社會動蕩關閉宿舍等。
- 你須支付該學期的全部共膳費用。在特殊情況下,書院亦會特事特辦,使學生只須支付部分共膳費用。
- 學生如延長休業期或休學等,可在居住第四年後申請住宿,唯學生事務委員會僅會在有空置宿位的情況下受理。
- 一般而言,修讀內外全科醫學士課程的學生,在臨床學習的最後兩年會居住在威爾士親王醫院所提供宿舍。
宿費及相關經濟援助
書院宿舍的日常營運為自負盈虧,因此宿費將取決於宿舍包括維修開支在內的實際營運成本。2023-24學年宿費如下:
宿費中已包含每個房間140千瓦時的基本用量。超出此用量者(尤其是冷氣)須根據該房間的單獨用量按月收費。
*每房每天4.65千瓦時 ~ 每房140千瓦時 x 12個月/365天
有經濟需要的敬文書院學生均可以申請助學金,以減輕宿費和共膳費用帶來的經濟負擔。
額外宿位
當書院有額外的宿位時,可能會接受除上述住宿之外的宿舍申請。尋求此類住宿的學生需要提前向學生事務委員會提交特別申請。除了需求方面的考慮,學生在以往書院生活的參與和貢獻也在考慮之列。以下為一些會獲考慮的例子。
- 在獲批休學的情況下,書院可提供四年以後的住宿,但前提須是相關學生的常規修業期限已被大學延長。
- 課程常規修業期限超過四年的學生也許有在第四年之後的住宿需要。一般而言,本例不適用於修讀內外全科醫學士課程的學生,因在臨床學習的最後兩年,威爾士親王醫院通常會提供宿舍。
- 對於超出常規修業期限的學生,獲得宿位機會甚微。

共膳和活動出席率
In normal circumstances, attendance to communal dining (CD) and College activities is a crucial requirement of passing (PP grade) the non-credit bearing courses (GECW 1000/ 2000/ 3000/ 4000) in College General Education. CD is a mandatory activity for all students enjoying the four-year full residence. With the suspension of College meal plan in Term 1, 2024–25 (students may refer to mass email Ref: #014/ 2024–25 for details), a new activity requirement is set for CWC students in Term 1 with details as follows:
(i) All CWC students assigned to the above CGE courses in Term 1, 2024–25 are required to participate in 5 activities accepted by the College for receiving a PP grade this term.
(ii) The new activity requirement stated under (i) is also applicable to students who have been granted CD exemption by the Dean of Students (DoS) in Term 1.
(iii) For Year 1 students taking GECW1000, their attendance at the 4 compulsory sessions of Extended Orientation in September 2024 will also be counted.
Eligible Activities
To fulfill the requirement of 5 activities, any physical or virtual activities chosen from the following list are considered acceptable:
- Any planned or upcoming activities covered in their year plans for 2024–25 and organized by the official student bodies of CWC (e.g. Student Honour Code Committee) and/or new student clubs recognized by the College. Activity organization also counts.*
- Any planned or upcoming activities organized by the College Office and Resident Tutors (RTs) formally announced via the College mass email and other promotional channels.
- Any sports activities arranged by the College or jointly organized with other official units.
- Participation, as an audience/ performer/ participant etc., in face-to-face or virtual cultural activities (broadly defined) organized by the College or other units within or outside the University (including other CUHK units/ Faculties/ Departments/ Programmes/ outside organizations). These activities include but not limited to concerts, plays, dramas, films, operas, cultural tours, art fairs, museum tours, talks, workshops, conferences etc.
* Note: As a matter of principle, service should be completely voluntary without any other motives. Therefore, activities organized by the CWC Service Team (whether joining as Service Team Members or general participants) will not be counted.
High Table Dinner is suspended in Term 1, 2024-25.
CDs are suspended in Term 1, 2024-25.

共膳費用
The cost of dining will be based on what the caterer charges. The dining fees for the academic year 2024–25 are as follows:
